The way I work
I have worked with individuals and couples for many years using a range of techniques from differing psychological perspectives. This could be described as integrating a number of approaches including for example solution focused brief therapy and/or psychodynamic insights. The length of therapy will be based on agreement between myself and the person(s) seeing me – so sessions could range from six sessions to many more. The aim is to work together for no longer than is necessary or required.
In terms of the work that I do relationship issues, loss and trauma figure often but over the years there are many situations I am used to dealing with. Please check with me if you have concerns about what I can and cannot support.
My role is not to tell you what to do but help highlight options that make things better. I do so by being fair, non judgemental and accepting of all and continuing to work to understand issues of culture, race, sexuality and gender.
I adhere to principles outlined by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ( I am a BACP registered member), am insured (Howden Pro) and maintain regular supervision of my work.
I am a registered Data Controller and Data Processor and abide by the regulations within the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) My data protection registration reference with the Information Commissioner’s Office is ZA461304.
